Ray Guillory

” I was raised here in Pensacola. My grandparents are interred at Barrancas National Cemetary. My mom was a hard working single mother. I went to poor and failing schools. Warrington Elementary, Escambia and Pensacola High School. I worked hard to graduate despite not having the resources to help in my education. I mowed lawns for my grandparents’ friends and got my first job at 16. I worked my way up in the restaurant business to executive chef. I gave up that job when I realized that if I wanted get ahead I had to treat workers as bad as I was once treated. That’s when I got involved in unions and politics. I don’t want to be a politician. I realize though that no current politician, from either party, really understands working class issues till they live them. Sympathy and empathy are one thing, but solidarity is something else. Eating Ramen noodles once and imagining living off them is one thing, living off them is another. I fight for working class people because that’s who I am. I’m Ray Guillory. I will fight to represent working class people in Escambia County. Join me.” Ray Guillory
